Paula grew up in Finland but has spent the past 14 years in Japan and the UK. She started her career in citizen journalism and helped produce short documentaries for outlets such as The Guardian and Channel 4 News. After a stint of producing and writing short films, she joined BBC Film as a trainee Development Assistant. Paula joined SISTER in 2019 as a maternity cover and has stuck around since. She's particularly passionate about emerging and international voices, as well as ethical and sustainable industry culture and inclusivity.

In her free time, Paula reads books, watches reality TV, and talks to her cat Pasha. She loves all things comedy from improv to clown and can sometimes be found on stage.
